I thought of opening up a blog here at wordpress because my good friends’ blogs (Salve’s and Celestine’s) are hosted here and I noticed the traffic here is much better than at blogspot. I think it’s because of the tags; Salve adds that it’s also because wordpress promotes the blogs it hosts.
So here is my first wordpress blog, and this is, as Armine puts it, “the first smear on the blank slate.” I am still contemplating on what to write, what theme, and so on. I plan to transfer some of my blogspot posts here, then post some other things. But maybe not now, I am still very busy with work, and I am also working on my other blogs. Besides, I still have to pimp my iluko.com blog’s sidebar. I wish I could do there the concept I used at my main blog, lots of photos, links, and even videos and slides.
For now, let me post something about home. I don’t know, but there is about this place that always pulls me. And because I’m into “travel” right now, let my very first post be about travel — but not away from, but towards home.
Yesterday, when I was thinking of writing a travel piece for my travel blog, breathtaking sunsets and sunrises and lovely beaches and azure waters flashed in my mind for a while, until a more compelling place dominated all else. The view is of lush greens and mountains through which spring waters flow. As I focused the spot to watch it more closely, I heard music — that of chirping birds and kids laughing. Then I recognized the view; it is of home.
Indeed, there is truth to the saying: “There’s no place like home.” For no matter where our travels might bring us, our hearts will always yearn for that special place we call home.
So let me, dear friends, show you where my heart is…
